A quieter day due to the wintery weather that we have experienced over the last couple of days.

A notable highlight this Tuesday being the very strong demand for hogget’s and cull sheep! Hoggs averaged £103.64 per head and ewes £99.44 per head! They are the prices that matter.

A shortage of barren and clean cattle, but sold on a solid trade to a ring full of buyers, selling to 129p/kg for a Blonde cow and clean to 199p/kg for an Angus heifer.

Quality dairy stock continue to sell well to £1910 for a fresh heifer from John Allan. Don’t forget Pedigree week next week with a nice entry forward so far!

Pigs were a seemingly better trade, with bacon pigs to 136p/kg, and weaners to £45/head.

Less calves about, no doubt due to the time of year with Blue bull calves to £365 and heifers to £285.

Quality was a little lacking on Tuesday however what bit there was sold well.

John Allan continues with his winning streak topping the day with his heifer at £1910. Purchasers should note that he has three fresh heifers and a group of youngstock entered for the pedigree sale.

Some stylish British Friesian heifers were keenly sort after with one from the Platt family of Gawsworth to £1850, eventually purchased by Frank Worsley of Chapel en le Frith.
