Update-Bagshaws Response to Covid-19

23rd March 2020

To all Bagshaws Clients,

At this very difficult time the health and safety of both employees and clients is paramount and we would like to thank you for your co-operation over the past week with regard to the measures we put in place in response to the Government guidance on Coronavirus.

Further to the measures introduced at 8.30pm last night, we would now like to provide an update and further clarity on how Bagshaws will be operating over the next three weeks.

Offices

All of our offices are now closed and our staff are working from home. All telephone lines into the offices are being answered as usual and you will be directed to the person you wish to speak to, should they not be available due to illness, you will be redirected to someone who can help with your query. We aim to provide the same continuity of service as you have always received from Bagshaws.

All of our Partners and the majority of our Surveyors/Estate Agents/Farm Office team have work mobiles which you are also able to contact them on, details are on our website and also on email footers.

All planned meetings with more than two people will not take place and these will now take place by conference call. Should a physical meeting be of an urgent or necessary nature, please understand that our team will not be shaking hands in the usual way, keeping the meeting to a minimal length of time, maintaining at least a 2m distance and using rigorous hand hygiene techniques to mitigate against the transmission of COVID-19.

Estate Agency

Our Estate Agency is still open, however in light of the announcement last night, we will not be conducting Market Appraisals for new properties or property viewings for properties currently on the market.

The property auctions due to take place on March 30th at Bakewell and April 1st at Uttoxeter will NOT take place at these venues. Instead the properties will be sold by tender sale. More details are available on our website, all bidders can email or post their bid on the prescribed tender form to Malcolm Gale (Uttoxeter) and Ed Lawley (Bakewell).

Rentals

Our rentals and lettings team is fully operational, if you have any queries please contact the Leek office as usual.

Due to the restrictions imposed, we cannot currently carry out property inspections, these will be re-instigated as soon as the lockdown period ceases and it is considered safe for our employees to do so.

With regard to signings for new leases and people moving into properties in the very near future, we are currently investigating the means for conducting this electronically and with minimal contact.

Livestock markets

These will continue as long as the Government permits, but we ask that only buyers attend to keep

contact to a minimum and that those attending follow the guidance clearly displayed at the market.

Any changes to the market timetable will be published on our Facebook page and website.
