Bakewell Property Auction August 2020

This auction was held on Monday 10th August.

Bakewell’s third property auction of this (unusual) year made full use of the Agricultural Business Centre’s facilities; taking place in the open market concourse to afford ample social distancing despite the large number of people in attendance.

There were four properties on offer, split into a total of twelve lots.

The heat outside was reflected by heated bidding, with strong competition for nearly all lots, seeing great results at the fall of the hammer.

Up first was Newlands Farm at Little Hucklow that sold for a remarkable total of £1,490,000 (excluding Lot 4, that was sold prior). The results for the individual lots were as follows:

Lot 1 Farmhouse and 6.54 acres £400,000
Lot 2 Yard, Buildings and 7.29 acres £315,000
Lot 3 8.08 acres £190,000
Lot 4 3.27 acres Sold Prior
Lot 5 9.25 acres £205,000
Lot 6 28.04 acres £380,000

Lower Peaslows at Blackbrook, Chapel en le Frith, was split into three lots, and comprised a derelict former farmhouse sat within 10 acres of surrounding land, with two further lots of land comprising 4.27 acres and 6.70 acres. Bidding was brisk, as testified by the following results:

Lot 1 Former farmhouse and 10 acres £350,000
Lot 2 4.27 acres £62,000
Lot 3 6.70 acres £77,000

The final three lots were land at Flagg. Again, there was strong competition driving prices, with the following results being realised:

Lot 1 3.75 acres £48,000
Lot 2 3.96 acres £40,000
Lot 3 9.72 acres £97,000

Lot 7, Oulds Barn did not sell on the day, so any interested parties are invited to contact the Bakewell Office.

Were evidence needed, today’s auction serves to illustrate the benefit of auction sales for the right type of property. Should you require advice upon the sale of your property by auction or other means, please do not hesitate to contact us.

We would like to highlight our 21st September auction, that has a number of attractive properties already entered.

Finally, we would like to thank all attendees for following COVID protocols, and look forward to welcoming you to Bakewell in September.
