September Property Auction at Bakewell
A variety of lots were offered under the hammer today at the Agricultural Business Centre at Bakewell. Ed Lawley was today’s auctioneer, positioned at the front of the busy conference room at the ABC. In addition to those in the room, online bidders played an active throughout.
Whilst 16 lots were programmed of which three were sold prior to the auction.
The afternoon saw strong results, with the benefit of the auction process seeing deposits paid and contracts signed on the day, with completion 28 days thereafter.
Old Corners Farm at Quarnford offered a lovely smallholding, comprising a farmhouse, traditional barn and 35 acres of upland grazing and moor. This together with a further 13.24 acres collectively sold for £460,000. 15.07 acres of land at Freehay, Stoke on Trent sold for £192,000 and the former St John’s ambulance site at Hope, having some development potential, realised £140,000. 3.59 acres of grassland land off Moor Lane, Elton sold for £50,000 and 4 acres off Drovers Way, Bullbridge, with stables and fishing rights, achieved £57,000.
By way of contrast to the agricultural properties 28, Frith Street in Leek, an end terrace property. saw strong demand and saw the hammer fall at £75,000. The residential development site at Moor Edge, Birch Vale sold immediately following the auction.
