Estate Agency Sales Administrator/Negotiator

Ashbourne Office

We are looking to recruit a full time Estate Agency administrator/sales negotiator at our Ashbourne office. The hours of work are Monday to Friday 9am – 5.30pm, with an unpaid hour for lunch.

  • As Chartered Surveyors, we advise a variety of parties on a wide range of land and property related matters across the Midlands and South Yorkshire, including valuations, agricultural tenancy matters, land management, compensation matters, planning and development issues, renewables as well as property agency.
  • We continue to be one of the largest livestock and property auctioneers in the Midlands, with livestock markets in Bakewell and Leek.
  • Our on-site team for livestock, dairy and machinery dispersal sales provide an unrivalled ‘hands on’ service and take responsibility for all aspects of the sales.

We are looking for a friendly and outgoing member of staff who can build up excellent working relationships with our clients. You will front our estate agency office and should therefore be confident in meeting and talking to clients. Ideally you will have experience in the property sector along with excellent administration skills.

You should have a full driving licence with access to your own transport as you may be required to carry out viewings of properties

You will be an articulate communicator with good attention to detail. We are looking for a candidate who has Maths and English GCSE or equivalent, accompanied by good IT skills and experience of estate agency software. You will be able to multi-task and prioritise your workload effectively whilst producing work to a high standard. Knowledge of the local area of Ashbourne and the surrounding area would be appreciated.

The Role

You’ll work on a diverse range of instructions, including:

  • Valuation of rural and agricultural property for a variety of purposes
  • Land and estate management, working with both traditional and institutional clients
  • Agricultural tenancy matters, including succession, rent reviews, and end-of-tenancy issues
  • Compulsory purchase and compensation work involving utilities and infrastructure schemes
  • Planning and development, including promotion and option agreements
  • Environmental and agri-environment schemes, including an interest in Natural Capital, Biodiversity Net Gain, and emerging land use markets

You’ll also be part of a team providing strategic advice to farming clients and landowners on diversification and business planning.

About You

We welcome interest from surveyors with significant experience. We are looking for surveyors with a passion for rural property, an ability to build client relationships, and a willingness to grow and contribute to our team.

You will ideally have:

  • RICS qualification (essential)
  • VRS registration (desirable)
  • CAAV membership or willingness to work towards it
  • Proven experience as a fee earner in a professional environment
  • Familiarity with relevant software and digital tools
  • A positive, proactive mindset and an ability to work independently
  • An interest in mentoring junior colleagues or contributing to the firm’s development (if more experienced)
