MULE EWE LAMB SALE REPORT

THURSDAY  16th SEPTEMBER

 

Bagshaws report a tremendous trade at the annual Mule Ewe Lamb sale. With 3,080 catalogued there was a superb selection of lambs on offer.

 

Judging was kindly undertaken by Mr Richard Garner of Woodford and the judge and prize winners received a bottle of Bagshaws 150 celebration whisky, to celebrate 150 years since the establishment of the firm.

 

Trade was outstanding from the start to finish with lambs selling from £60 to £166 and the average levelling at £116.92 to include the Masham and Cheviot crosses.

 

In terms of a comparison with last year the overall average was up £19.87.
The largest entry was from G Ford of Tunstead Milton whose annual consignment is a good barometer of trade and averaged £128.30.
