642 Rams in the catalogue with the sale all through one ring with a 10-o clock start.
Before the sale commenced the show was kindly judged by Mr Geoff Walton of Tideswell who dealt with his task in a timely fashion despite some very strong classes with up to 18 rams in some categories. Full details of the show are to be found later in this report.
As to the sale itself, it was the same story that we have witnessed at all the sheep sales this Autumn. Plenty of interest and an excellent trade for the best quality, but harder work for the auctioneers for the lesser sorts.
Trade was maintained right through the sale with buyers clearly waiting for particular rams and many regular vendors having established a loyal band of customers to compete for their stock each year. All in all, an excellent sale.
