Annual Ram Show & Sale

CHAMPION RAM SOLD TO £3,800.00

A highly successful sale for a catalogued entry of just short of 700 rams sold to a large gathering of prospective purchasers, with the sale concluded by 5pm and the market cleared by 7pm.

The sale was preceded by the Show which was judged swiftly and very professionally by Harry Young, Peak Forest, who awarded prizes as follows:

Strong tups with shape would be at a distinct premium for all breeds, both MV and non MV with the results speaking for themselves. The overall average would be well up on last year with the lambs averaging £360 and the shearlings £459 per head, with a competitive ring full of buyers right until the end of the sale.

A highlight of the sale was the Champion being sold by P Furness, Monyash and purchased by John Spillane, Fairfield for a record Bakewell Commercial price of £3,800.
