The price of cows remains at an all time high with the product in short supply nationally and many firms promising big prices to buy cattle.  The only way to value them to your best advantage however, is to market them through Bakewell where we  have a full line up of end users looking to bid freely and own cows.  60 vendors today enjoyed the trade with the general standard of cows not up to last weeks high mark.  Best cows today reached a new record high of 290p of £2244 for a super Blue x Cow, 8yrs from Jonathon & Josh Hall, Longnor.  Ian Woodward had a good run of Char and Lims at 274,266, 265 and 250p.  43 cows at £2 and over with the top 12 over 235p.

I would love the opportunity to market and sell your cattle, please give me a call for a confidential, no obligation opinion of what we can do.

More on offer and very much on par with last week for the quality on offer.  A number of non F/A ‘out of spec’ cattle would affect the averages but look well enough sold on the day.

Not the sparkling average of last week but a good solid trade with all cattle sold to a good audience of buyers.  14 best over £3/kilo with returning man Geoff Evans winning the day at 319p (£1965) with his other at 313p (£2109).  Too many good cattle to mention at these super new prices.  14 natives had Hereford to 274p, Angus to 238p and Lincoln to 248p, but as with the steers, some plainer non assured cattle hit the averages.  All in all, a superb day in the prime ring.
