A reminder for those selling finished and cull stock from 13th December onwards that if you’re not Farm Assured you need a vet attestation number.

If you have not already done so, speak to your vet.  Full details of the new rules are to be found at the end of this report.

Next week there are several large consignments of breeding cattle, again, details are to be found within this report.

Christmas is coming, but so is VET ATTESTATION which starts on 13th December.

If you are selling finished or cull stock on or after that date and you are not Farm Assured it is important that you have a vet attestation number.

If you have already got your vet attestation number then please let us have it, either write in on the top of your Market Declaration or let us have a copy of the form from your vets.

STORE & BREEDING CATTLE – (Auctioneer Alastair Sneddon)

Another decent show of 373 store cattle saw prices remain very firm with a strong trade from start to finish.

Suckled calves attracted plenty of interest and prices to match.

Angus and Herefords were very well sold as were the black & white steers.

It is clear that finishers are working hard to keep their yards filled and store cattle vendors are the beneficiaries.

The sale started with a handful of Breeding Cattle which achieved.

£1300 Hfd x Cow, 64 mnths & Bull Calf F & S Sykes, Rainow

Next week there are over 100 breeding cattle entered, full details are in this report.

Better Mules hovering around £100 mark.

There are numerous bidders for the best Swales, Gritstone and horned types, but they must be fully fleshed to get the best return.  Very biggest Gritstones over £85/head.
