41 CALVES (Auctioneer Ivor Lowe)

Another strong trade for all with plenty of potential purchasers present and a number going home short of requirements.

Best bulls saw B Blues to £440 and £385 and Natives topping at £380 whilst heifers saw a strong Blue to £435.

Plenty of interest in the B/W which sold to a top of £90 for an entry lacking very much in the way of size.

507 Cull Sheep

An increased entry with active bidders for everything, but generally the biggest pens full of ewes were not as well meated as last week.

Undoubtably the best 10-20% just as dear but less to be sold in this category.

Strong Mules well over £116 and the trade for these still consistent.

Top call of the day £225/head for long Texels from the Wild family at Red Crate End with Bernard Archer at £210 again for Texels.

Horned ewes slightly easier but the Gritstones and Cheviot crosses good to sell.

In the rams £149 for the top Texel from David Wain at Ilam with others at £148 and £138.
