103 BARREN, OTM AND FEEDING COWS overall ave 183.7p/kg or £1233
(Auctioneer Oliver Hiles)
The same numbers and very much a ‘stand on’ trade’ with numbers tight nationally the wholesalers want to keep the meat sales going. All the best cows still comfortably over 200p with a lovely Blue x feeder at the top of the list at 252p for M&L Agriculture. Other good sorts over 230p and a big pedigree Charolais from Mark McGahan at £2274 (217p).
Whilst cows are in such demand, the best way to market them is on their legs and preferably in Bakewell Market where we have a full ring of 15 buyers representing wholesalers and further feeders wanting to own your cows. For any information or for up-to-date prices, give me a call on 07801 530899.
