The 251cull sheep saw trade up on the week to a top of £218 (ave £134/head) whilst a slightly increased entry of calves saw a flying trade with bulls to £400 and heifers to £390.
Ashbourne Young Farmers were also in the market raising money for the Brain Tumour Charity where they raised £300, we have agreed to match the amount.
They are also taking part in a charity bike ride on 27th July, where they will be visiting every young farmers club in Derbyshire. We wish them good luck with this on behalf of everyone at Bagshaws

94 BARREN, OTM AND FEEDING COWS overall ave 181.4p/kg or £1197
(Auctioneer Oliver Hiles)
A few more about and trade very much ‘stand on’ from last week with the average very similar on the week. A good line up of buyers today with all the better cattle north of £2/kilo with the best and younger sorts 220p plus. Best price today was a young Charolais (33 mnths) at 241p or £1421 with a young cow from Andrew & Helen Carr at 238p (£1461). Cows remain good to sell and I don’t see them dropping as they have done in other years at this time. The advice I would give is if you have them to sell, then do so. For any advice or a free, no obligation farm visit, give me a call on 07801 530899.
