CAPTION COMPETITION
Last week’s caption competition attracted no fewer than 17 entries and caused the selection committee a great deal of head scratching.
There were 3 responses all referring to Bully’s star prize and we felt that we could not pick one of the three.
There was a very amusing politically in correct suggestion which had to be excluded and there was even a finely crafted poem, but in the end simplicity prevailed.
The winner – Paul Shardlow of Shirland
‘BID UP OR YOU’LL MISS THE BOAT’
The runner up was Tanya Kelsey, Shottle

(Auctioneer Oliver Hiles)
A bumper entry this week with 136 Barren and OTM Cattle from 62 vendors and selling to 16 different accounts at ringside. Competition at its finest in the live ring at Bakewell. The overall average is up 3 pence on the week with a good deal of cold cattle from outside in the entry today.
