Livestock & Dairy: Bakewell Market

Bakewell Market Store Cattle Sale 2022-02-18

Not even Storm Eunice could deter buyers from attending Bakewell Livestock Market for the February edition of the Suckled Calf Sale.  A much smaller entry after the big January sale of 800, as has become the norm.

The buyers at ringside were in a good determined mood and had to pull out all the stops to secure the quality cattle on offer.

The majority of the cattle were Spring 2021 born and therefore still under a year old but almost without exception quality was there for all to see.

The sale progressed quickly with the cattle arriving at the salering in good sized even bunches.  Bagshaws would like to thank all who attended on such a lousy day weatherwise with the horrendous forecast only putting off a few onlookers to fill the top row seats in the sale ring.

The next sale will be held on Friday 18th March on behalf of the High Peak Livestock Society for which good entries have already been promised.
