874 Sheep including 693 Finished Hoggs, 101 Culls & 80 Store Sheep

 

A very good entry of 874 sheep included 693 lambs.  Demand very brisk for all types with the overall average not reflecting the excellent demand for meat.  Best butchers lambs to 292p/kg with heavy weight butchers lambs to 282p/kg and overweight lambs to 280p/kg and a top gross of £153.44/head.  The overall average 241p/kg.

101 Cull Sheep

Just 101 cull sheep on offer with demand still very brisk for all types, best Texels to £191 with heavy Mules in the £85-£105 bracket and horned ewes in the £40-£68 bracket.

Store Sheep

A small entry of store sheep included 62 long term feeding lambs with plenty of bidders for these at this late stage to peak at £68/head.

Two pens of ewes and lambs attracted very brisk bidding with Texel singles to £142 and cross bred singles to £144/family.
