527 Sheep including 92 Finished Hoggs, 78 Cull Sheep & 357 Store Sheep
A good pre-Easter entry of 527 head of sheep included a small entry of finished stock but a very good show of ewes and lambs.
In the finished hoggs best meated sorts still in demand to peak at 355p/kg for best butchers types with lighter weights to 330p/kg. Overall average 301.98p/kg

78 Cull Sheep
A mixed lot in offer with demand good for all types. Best heavy ewes to £265, overall average £107. Rams to £198 average £137.50.
357 Store Sheep
A total of 357 on offer, the best entry of the year saw plenty of buyers present from Derbyshire, Staffordshire and Nottinghamshire. The strong continentals saw some outstanding results, but older ewes and small lambs saw prices back on recent high levels. A pen of 5 young Texel ewes with 9 strong lambs topped the day at £450/family (£160/life)
