THURSDAY LUNCHTIME SHEEP SALE REPORT

853 Sheep including 550 Finished Lambs, 298 Cull Sheep & 5 Store Lambs
A very good entry of 853 head of sheep included 550 lambs. Demand right from the very first pen was very sharp with a top of 261p/kg with 6 pens over 254p/kg, the top gross was £124.91. Overall market average 232.1p.

298 Cull Sheep
A very good entry of 298 cull ewes and rams included a large proportion of plainer sorts which had come straight from work. Several grazing buyers in attendance saw demand very good and many more could have been sold at these high levels. Best Beltex x ewes sold to £138, Texels to £134, Suffolks to £118, Mules to £105, BFL to £95 and Swales to £82.
Ewes to £138 Ave: £74.25
Rams to £144 Ave: £112.17
Just 1 pen of 5 little store lambs saw brisk bidding to £68/head.
