THURSDAY LUNCHTIME SHEEP SALE REPORT

1,067 Sheep including 831 Finished Lambs, 172 Cull Sheep and 64 Store Lambs

 

A very good entry of 1067 sheep included 831 lambs and 172 Cull Sheep.  Demand still very brisk throughout with best lightweight sorts peaking at 347p/kg, best butchers lambs to 320p/kg and heavy butchers lambs to 298p/kg.  The best lambs grossed over £167/head and an overall market average of 275.75p/kg which included several pens of mules and horned lambs.

Cull Sheep

A very good show of 172 Cull Ewes and lambs attracted very brisk bidding with best Texels to £170, Beltex x to £150, Lleyn to £137 and Jacob to £100.

 

Ewes to £170  Ave: £87.18

Rams to £160  Ave: £126.11

 

 Feeding lambs

Just 64 Feeding lambs included several longer-term sorts with a top of £91 to average £78.48.
