THURSDAY LUNCHTIME SHEEP SALE REPORT

24th March 2022

 

600 Sheep including 449 Finished Hoggs, 116 Cull Sheep and 35 Store Sheep

 

 A very good show of 600 included 449 lambs.  Demand for the handy-weight meated sorts very brisk with two pens to 330p/kg and 6 pens over the 308p/kg barrier.  Top gross price of £141.24 per head.  The big lambs still harder to sell with best to 224p/kg.  Overall average 263.25p/kg.

 116 Cull Sheep

Just 116 cull ewes and rams met brisk bidding with 7 different buyers operating on numerous accounts.  More Cull Sheep needed to fill order books.  Best Beltex ewes to £192 with Texel to £188, Mules to £138, Gritstone to £102, Swales to £93 and Jacob to £90.

35 Store Sheep

Just 35 Store Sheep this week saw feeding lambs to £82 to average £77.85.  Cade lambs to £13.
