Bakewell Market Thursday Lunchtime Sheep Sale Report Thursday 27th March

587 Sheep including 405 Finished Hoggs, 87 Cull Sheep & 93 Store Sheep

 

405 Finished Hoggs 321.06p/kg

 

Still no real bite to the trade with the average similar to the last couple of weeks.  Best sold again today would be the well finished handy weights with the bigger types proving more difficult to place.  Top price of 360p/kg and £180 per head.

Included a very good show of 82 Ewes and lambs.

 

Plenty of buyers forward with many going home with empty trailers.  Demand still very much off the clock with a Dutch Spotted Ewe with Twin Ewe Lambs attracting very brisk bidding and finally selling for £660 (£220 / life).
