THURSDAY LUNCHTIME SHEEP SALE REPORT

16th September 2021

 

1538 Sheep including 1100 Finished Lambs, 247 Culls and 19 Store Sheep

 

1100 Lambs Average 211.69p/kg

An increased entry and trade following the national falling trend seen throughout the week.  Nevertheless, the lambs met a competitive trade for all weights with well finished lambs commanding a significant premium.  Top price of 250p/kg and £115/head.

39.1kg 249p/kg FH Sargent, Derby
39.6kg 242p/kg J Renshaw, Macclesfield
41.1kg 240p/kg DA & AM Campeau, Crowdicote
48.0kg 230p/kg T & R Hibbert, Eyam

 

Averages:

32.1 – 39.0kg To: 250p/kg Ave: 216.07p/kg
39.1 – 45.5kg To: 249p/kg Ave: 211.30p/kg
45.6 – 52kg To: 230p/kg Ave: 207.89p/kg
52kg+ To: 218p/kg Ave: 214.65p/kg

 

247 Cull Sheep Ave: £73 per head

Another strong trade for all but a number of Mule & Hill Ewes reflected in the average.  Continental Ewes to £158 and Rams to £166.

 

191 Store Sheep

All commodities in strong demand with breeding Ewes to £125 and Store Lambs to £77.
