Bakewell Morning Thursday Lunchtime Sheep Sale 2024-08-01
An increased entry of 527 sheep on offer included 438 lambs. Demand for the best fleshed sorts very good throughout with a top of 349p/kg (twice) for both Andrew & Graham Ford. The top gross went to Andrew with his best pen over £160/head. The overall average 289.21p/kg.

In the cull section just 74 on offer with demand very brisk for all types. Best shaped Texels to £196. Texel x Mules to £190 and handy Mules to £166. More cull rams on offer saw very brisk bidding.

Store Sheep
In the store section just the last few ewes and lambs still wanted sold to £130 for hill ewes with young lambs. A pen of 7 long-term feeding lambs looked well sold to £81/head.
