Well, what a fantastic day! Probably one of the largest sales to take place on farm this year so
far and the largest ever undertaken by Bagshaws with 516 head, nearly all adults sold in 7

The Cookson family are held in the highest respect in the Cheshire area and this was certainly
reflected in the massive crowd in attendance that held to the very end of the sale. In all 59
active purchasers with many others going home empty handed.

Trade was strong from the start with a massive 93 passing the £2000 mark.
Topping the day at £2650 was one of the very many stylish milking heifers in the sale. By
Matcrest Dewey, she was giving 33kg and was clinched by E T Hanson of Bradford who were
one of the bulk buyers at the sale.

Hot in pursuit at £2520 was another milking heifer, freshly calved with many others in the
£2300-£2500 bracket.

In-calf heifers were a particularly strong trade topping at £2450 to Messrs Brassington of
Endon with numerous others in excess of £2000.
The youngstock also sold exceptionally well with bulling heifers to £1150. Every life averaging
a superb £1565!
