After a very wet Friday the difficult decision was made to go ahead with the Annual Sale of Hill Sheep on behalf of the High Peak Livestock Society. The auctioneers were out at 6am to assess the situation and were very pleased to see water levels decreasing allowing an excellent turnout of 3,021 head of stock with only the draft ewe section down on numbers.
Buyers were out in force and trade in all sections was very brisk with a delayed start allowing buyers to find alternative routes to market.
