Quality from start to finish at the March edition of the HPLS Suckled Calf Sale.
412 cattle were entered for the sale from producers in the High Peak district.
Buyers were out in force from a wide geographical area and were in good spirits, buoyed by the recent good sales of fantastic stock. The trade for the best cattle, the bigger sorts and more forward cattle was absolutely fantastic and many more could have been sold today. The younger and smaller cattle were not as keenly sought after but still sold well for size but looked a better buy on the day. The majority of the cattle were Spring and Summer 2021 born and therefore under 12 months of age.
The sale progressed quickly with good runs of even cattle being sold in groups to an enthusiastic group of buyers. A few special individuals were sold on their own to the specimen hunters for showing. Bagshaws would like to thank all once again for making the sale such a success.
Averages were again up on the year with ‘trade of the day’ reserved for the best Steers which were up £125 on the year’s average.
