Livestock & Dairy: Bakewell Market

HPLS Suckled Calves Friday 14th March

A day for the ages and you really had to be here to appreciate the level of trade for HPLS suckled calves, 430 cattle on offer today with each and every consignment turning to enjoy the trade on offer.

With the present trade for the finished product at an all time high, confidence amongst the buyers was strong they turned out in force to bid for the quality that was on offer.

Trade was absolutely amazing from start to finish with the majority of the stock Spring 2024 born suckled calves with just a few older sorts that slipped the net last year.

The sale progressed quickly with the cattle arriving in the ring in good sized, even bunches and that was certainly appreciated by the enthusiastic bidders.

Bagshaws would like to thank all for making the sale a high success and the vendors for putting their trust in the Bagshaws team at Bakewell to market their cattle.

Averages were miles up on the year as you would expect.
