The dairy ring was packed on Tuesday know doubt drawn by the large numbers on offer, with trade surpassing all expectations.
Pedigree vendors presented some fantastic animals for sale and were well rewarded for their efforts.
Cows peaked at £3000 for a powerful second calver by Horst Allard from the Mellor family of Earl Sterndale. Giving 45kg she was clinched by John Bayley of Nuneaton.
Hot in pursuit was another second calver by Marquee from the Broomhouse Herd of Messrs Easom. Churning out 46kg she went to Messrs Neville of Matlock.
The Easom family continued their successful run with a lovely group of heifers that topped at £3100 for an Entity daughter giving 30kg to Messrs Hutchinson of Weston Underwood, with a second at £3020 to A Mayer of Brown Edge and a third at £3000 again to Messrs Neville.
However it was a heifer from Michael Wainwright by Secretariat that lead the Pedigrees at £3180 also to Messrs Hutchinson.
This superb trade produced an average of £2307 for all of the milkers.
The top price for the day came within the herd dispersal for Phillip and Jean Brocklehurst of Mobberley. An exceptional cow by ABS Achiever attracted a lot of interest with John Bayley eventually clinching her at £3300. In all 12 passed the £2000 mark in the herd sale.
Stock Bulls of all breeds were keenly sought after with young Pedigree Simmentals to £2800 and £2550 and a 3⅟2 year old Angus to £2000.
Young calves from A Myatt reached £370.
Overall the results speak for themselves. 10 passed £3000 with 44 over £2000 with 171 sold!
