Massive Crowd at Nuneaton Dispersal…Bagshaws team sees a very fast trade”

The genuine dispersal sale on behalf of Hannah Wyatt at Poplars Farm, Barton in the Beans saw an excellent range of classic and vintage machinery for genuine dispersal together with various modern machinery and special entries from both deceased estates and genuine retiring farmers.

In spite of the early morning rain, by 10.30am at the start of the sale there was a massive crowd gathered with some of the early lots achieving extremely high prices and the mid sale lots including non-vat items seeing an exceptional trade for collectables.

Within the smaller lots:

There was a small but well kept range of implements from the farm including:

The Sanderson 725 Teleporter from the farm was a 1986 Model and achieved £5,200 with the MF 4255 T Reg c/w Loader £14,500, JCB 3CX Turbo £16,800 and Deutz 100 Agrofarm 4WD tractor at £16,500.

Obviously, the emphasis of the day was on classic tractors and machinery with a 3 Cylinder MF 35 at £3,550, David Brown 990 (recent paint and good tyres) at £5,100 and a County 1124 (no cab-unregistered) at £12,700.

The neighbour’s collection of tractors from Mr Greenfield included a Leyland 154 at £2,450, Fordson 3 Cylinder Dexter £2,800, Fordson Super Major (original patina) at £4,800, Nuffield 1160 £4,000 and Massey Ferguson 3 Cylinder 35 at £3,250.

Yet another feature of the sale was the genuine dispersal of the Late Harry Burnett’s implements and tools from his farm at Alverston near Derby. These lots included various barn finds and original items as follows:

Within the tractors the two leading items from this Derby farm included a Massey Ferguson 135 (G Plate) c/w Loader and Lambourn Cab at £4,600 and a smart Ford 5000 c/w Lambourn Cab (Reg PUT935G) showing 2,466 hours with an original Hallmark Tractors dealer sticker at £8,600.

The lots from Derby were rounded off with a half round stone trough at £880.

The final section of the auction field was taken up by items from the Jackson family of Barton in the Beans who retired from Dairy production some years ago and their lots included:

An excellent sale of close on 500 lots with the field virtually cleared by 6.30pm on sale night and superb support from the northern and midland counties.
