668 Ewes & rams
(Auctioneers Mark Elliott & Holly Swift)
A superb entry again this week of 666 ewes and rams with a pleasing overall average of £113.58.
Top call today £238 for some pure texels from Ben Thorpe with three other bunches at £230 from Boden and Davies and plenty others above the £170-£228 mark today and the top 10 pens averaging £223.40, with generally a larger proportion of stronger ewes. Trade generally fast and the grazing sheep very good to sell, however this made the mediums look less money, but they are still a good trade. Fleshy horned ewes £95+.
9 tups to top at £241 and others at £201 for smart texel cross sorts from Little Onn
657 ewes to £238 av £111.74 – up nearly £10 on the week
