267 Ewes and Rams

(Auctioneers Mark Elliott & Holly Swift)

Buyers out in force for the pre Christmas market and trade strong from start to finish.

If anything, there were probably bigger proportions of strong finished ewes this week but trade had pushed on and all sections dearer.

Best continentals £218 plus with a top call of £259 and Jackie Tureman at £230.

Better Mules towards £150 but virtually no storming strong ewes penned this week.

Plenty of buyers for the plain and feeding sorts, and they looked yet again dearer.

Slaughter rams good to sell with some strong well fleshed continentals forward.  Best tups £218 and above to a top of £250.

Ewes ave an excellent £152.24

15 Rams to ave £174.27

Overall average £153.48
