The catalogued entry of over 5,000 lambs drew a large contingent of potential purchasers from a wide area with a number making their first trip to Bakewell.
Given the dry weather conditions and lack of keep it was no surprise that trade was a little cautious, returning an average of £77 per head.
Nevertheless, all types were in keen demand with a number of potential purchasers going home short of requirements.
