A catalogued entry of 2,470 Mules & Mashams met a ring of buyers and onlookers from a wide area.

The pre sale show gave Anthony Emmerson of Cirencester a difficult task selecting his prize winning pens.

The overall trade was slightly back on last year’s levels with plenty of best end £190 plus with the overall average £136.

TEXEL X, SUFFOLK X AND ALL OTHER BREEDS

The show kindly judged by Mr David Percy

With 6,320 sheep catalogued and the usual large contingent of buyers from both far and near a level trade throughout, but a number of lambs showing the effects of the lack of keep resulting from the dry summer.

Both Suffolks and Continentals met a similar trade with Bluetongue vaccinated Suffolk lambs perhaps attracting a premium.

The overall average returned at £127 to a top of £255 for Suffolks and £195 for Texels.

The pre sale show was kindly judged by David Percy of Worcestershire who awarded prizes as follows.
