Planning Department Opportunity

• As Chartered Surveyors, we advise on a wide range of land and property related matters including valuations, compensation claims, occupation agreements, planning and development issues.

• We continue to be one of the largest livestock and property auctioneers in the Midlands, with livestock markets in Bakewell and Leek.

• Our team of Estate Agents are responsible for a wide portfolio of both town and country properties.

We are looking to recruit a full time Planner to work across the Bagshaws business to grow our existing planning services.

This is a new and exciting position, offering considerable scope for growth and we would like the successful candidate to lead and develop our Town and Country Planning department. You will have opportunity to develop relationships with existing clients whilst expanding the team by engaging with new clients. To facilitate this, travel across Staffordshire, Derbyshire and South Yorkshire will be required.

The successful candidate will ideally have at least 3 years of experience advising on planning matters that may include strategic planning, residential and agricultural matters . You will be expected to have an up to date working knowledge of planning matters.

You will be friendly, outgoing and a good communicator. Whilst being a member of a team, you will also be working as an independent fee earner. Applications are welcomed from both candidates with a background in town and country planning, those with RTPI qualifications and/or RICS qualified Surveyors with planning experience. You will need a full UK driving licence and use of a car.

Vacancy for a RICS qualified Chartered Surveyor

We are looking to recruit a full time RICS qualified Chartered Surveyor  with experience in general professional work, planning matters and agency. The successful candidate will have 3-5 years of relevant post qualification experience. This experience should include, but not be limited to; the valuation of all property types (residential, rural, equestrian, agricultural), confident in the management of rural property, an up to date working knowledge of the planning system and agency work.

You will be friendly, outgoing and a good communicator. Whilst being a member of a team, you will be used to working as an independent fee earner. Applications are welcomed from both RICS qualified surveyors and candidates with a background in town planning and RTPI qualifications.

Graduate Surveyor

As a new graduate, you will work towards your APC qualification looking to qualify by 2022, we would also support you working towards your CAAV qualification. As a graduate with Bagshaws you would assist surveyors with valuation work, assist with the land/property sales, assist with land/property management and compensation work.

Placement Student 2020/21

Job description

Job Title: Placement student

Responsible to; Partner

Location: Uttoxeter/Ashbourne/Bakewell office

Purpose of Job/Key objectives

To work alongside the Professional members of the office, observing and assisting with valuation work, land and estate agency and farm office services. To gain relevant experience during the placement year and to fulfil the requirements from Harper Adams.

Duties, tasks and responsibilities

• To assist surveyors with valuation work. To include the following;

o site inspections

o collation of comparables

o drafting of reports

• To assist with the land/property sales. To include the following;

o Client visits

o Preparation of documents

o Using Expert Agent

o Dealing with telephone queries

• To assist with land/property rental and management. To include the following;

o Sites visits (inc photography)

o Preparation of tenancy agreements/inventory check etc

• To assist with the farm office service. To include the following;

o Assist with BPS and other grant scheme matters

• To assist with farm dispersal sales/livestock market (auctioneering and clerking).

This is not an inclusive list of duties but a guideline for the placement. The list maybe extended over the period of the placement.
