The genuine dispersal sale following the passing of the late Jim Wain at Ashleyhay saw the largest crowd all season and support from Wales, Lincolnshire, Yorkshire, the Midlands and the North of England.
With such a wide array of non-vat items which has been collected for perhaps four decades and no vat or buyer’s premium the crowds flocked to Little Broadgates Farm and every lot saw spirited bidding with various items unique which resulted in some exceptional prices throughout the day.
There were close on 700 lots for sale and even a small windmill or two included in the sale items.

The top price of the day was a Field Marshall Series II at £8,100.
A superbly attended sale which included everything from the kitchen sink to a Field Marshall even a few taxidermy birds and some world war I shell casing. Thanks to the vendor and the outside sales team as everyone was loaded and the job complete by 6.30pm on sale evening.

Slurry Equipment was in demand in this highly intense dairy area with the Hi Spec 2600 Gallon Single Axle SAR Tanker c/w Dribble Bar £18,400. Doda PTO Slurry Pump £4,400 and 100 metres of 5 inch Umbilical Lay Flat Pipes at £760.
The prime mover on the farm was the Case Puma 220 with sold with 50 KPH Gearbox Air and Oil Brakes showing 3,631 hours to a local farmer to £55,500.

“Large Crowd and Very Pleasing Trade at Field Farm Dispersal” Mark Elliott
The sale for the Fowkes Family undertaken by the Bagshaws team at Field Farm, Ashby Road, Measham attracted a very large crowd and with a large run of extra items from outside vendors there was definitely something for everyone at this late May sale.
Undoubtedly the stars of the show were the Deutz tractors, JCB Telehandler together with tractors from extra vendors with some eye watering prices achieved during the day.
In the Smaller Lots:

Potential purchasers had travelled long distances for the tractors, dryer etc with the Master Super 120 Mobile Dryer achieving £8,200 and the Rolland Twin Axle Grain Trailer achieving a very good £7,600.
Within the Tractors:
Deutz Agristar-08’ sold on an M Plate believed to have run for around 8,000 hours selling at £18,900.
Deutz Agrotron 135 MKIII on 4,300 hours (51 Plate) at £18,700.
The farms JCB 531-370 T4i Series III Construction Spec Handler sold into Cheshire on 2,950 hours on a 13’ Plate at £17,600.
Perhaps the surprise of the day was a superb TAFE 45 DI 2WD Mini Tractor c/w Cab which was driven by the non-vat registered vendor to the sale showing 855 hours and owned from new. Sold with no vat it achieved a massive £14,300 and the Kilworth Dragone Flail Mower just removed from it made £1,030
Other compact tractors included an Iseki 1215 2WD achieved £3,820 and an older John Deere 3050 4WD c/w SG2 Cab sold on an E Plate at £8,000.
As detailed trailers were very well bid for with a Richard Western 20 Ton SWT 20 Grain Trailer with Hydraulic Rear Door at £17,200 to travel to Warwickshire.
Smaller Non-Vat items included Stihl Strimmer at £125, Case Bird at £150, Golf Buggy at £300.
A well attended sale with spirited bidding and more sales booked for the next month.

The small Non-Vat dispersal on behalf of the Executors of the Late Robert Marshall at Burrows Farm, Clifton attracted very wide national interest with purchasers travelling from Northern Ireland and throughout the North of England, particularly for the Case Tractors.
