The Bagshaws team out in force for the dispersal on behalf of Mr Lawrence Gratton who is retiring from Broom Hall Farm who has been on the holding since 1967. Mr Gratton had been extremely careful with his machinery which was all in excellent condition and the prices achieved and the support given were definitely a reflection of the well-kept kit. Undoubtedly the stars of the day were the tractors and telehandler with a classic Massey 398 achieving a massive hammer price of £22,000.

Within the Tractors:
Massey Ferguson 165 Multi Power c/w Scirocco Flexi Cab £5,300 Undoubtedly the classic Massey Ferguson 398 which had received a paint job approximately 6 years ago created interest from both Ireland, North of England and local counties and after a spirited bidding war from a Yorkshire man and a Derbyshire enthusiast it achieved a massive £22,000. Lawrence Gratton’s main work horses were the Massey Ferguson 5455 Dyna 4 sold on a 11’ Plate with 5,162 hours achieving £33,800 and the Massey Ferguson 5712 SL 4WD Dyna 4 sold on a 17’ Plate having undertaken 2,700 hours at £32,000 to go to Ireland. Another star of the day was the Manitou MLT 629 Telehandler which had been owned from new and had only undertaken 2830 hours and was sold to go south to a farmer at £43,000.
The 2025 event at Darley Moor run by the Bagshaws sale team had to unfortunately be pushed back to May due to bank holiday and printing issues which allowed the team to attend on a very sunny day with a massive crowd and very spirited bidding in all sections.

A successful event with pleasing results for the vendors and the ice cream vans doing a roaring trade.
