Dominic Cooney

Dominic is based in our Ashbourne office but covers the geography of all Bagshaws offices for planning-related matters.

As a Chartered Town Planner with over 13 years’ experience in both the public and private sectors, he can provide professional advice on the development potential of your buildings or land, increasing the value of your assets.

Emma Mycock

Emma has been with Bury and Hilton for 12 years and now manages the Buxton office. She has extensive experience in both sales and rentals and has successfully passed her ABBE Level 3 qualification in the Sale of Residential Property. This covered key areas including surveys, property law, lettings, marketing, and health and safety.

Outside of work, Emma enjoys hiking and running in the countryside with her two dogs – a Border Collie and a Labrador. She also enjoys gardening and has recently discovered a passion for growing dahlias!

Catherine Edge

Cath is a Sales Negotiator who joined Bury & Hilton in 2012.

Cath’s duties include answering the telephone, property administration and negotiating sales.

Outside of work enjoys musical theatre, reading and socialising.

Catherine Holland

Cath is the Lettings Manager for both Bagshaws and Bury and Hilton and is based in the Leek office.

She is a member of ARLA and has over 16 years’ experience in the property and finance sector.

Outside of work Cath enjoys socialising with family & friends, gardening and holidays abroad.

Deborah Amson

Debbie joined Bury & Hilton over 20 years ago and is responsible for the administration/secretarial duties at the Leek office.

During her spare time, she loves taking long walks with her two dogs (and husband!) and spending time with her family and new grandson.  She also enjoys holidays and exploring new places in her motorhome.

Martyn Prince

Martyn is property manager at the Leek and Buxton offices. He has worked in the property industry for over 20 years and has been at Bury & Hilton since 2014. Martyn’s roles include the valuation of sale and rental properties as well as the sale of property and land via multiple methods.

He was born and raised in the Peak District, moving to Leek around 15 years ago. His interests include walking his miniature schnauzer, socialising with family and friends and watching Manchester United where he has had a season ticket for a number of years.

Julie Godwin

Julie is sales manager for Bury and Hilton and based in the Leek office.

Has over 25 years of experience in the Industry, 15 years of that being served at Bury and Hilton.

Julie is well known for her role within residential sales in Leek and surrounding areas and brings a wealth of knowledge to the office.

In her spare time she enjoys being with her family.

Charles Ball

Charles was the previous owner of Bury & Hilton prior to him selling the business to Bagshaws and he is now a consultant, working out of the Leek office.

Charles is a Member of the Royal Institution of Chartered Surveyors (MRICS) having qualified approx. 40 years ago.  He carries out valuations on residential and commercial properties and deals with all aspects of estate agency.

Charles is also a Director at Bury & Hilton Auctions Limited, which is a separate firm who hold auction sales of general household furniture and also antique and collectable furniture and effects.

Lynda Wood

Market advertising, passport enquiries, sale entries and booking stock in at Bakewell market.

Enjoys reading and sheep dog trials.

Suzanna Thorpe

Suzanna undertakes work for clients across Staffordshire, Derbyshire, and Leicestershire. She joined Bagshaws in September 2019 and is now based at the Uttoxeter Office, having relocated along with the rest of the Penkridge team following the recent consolidation of the two offices in spring 2025. However, she continues to act for several longstanding clients in and around the Penkridge area.

During her time with Bagshaws, Suzanna has qualified as a Chartered Member of the Royal Institution of Chartered Surveyors (RICS) and became a Fellow of the Central Association of Agricultural Valuers (CAAV) in 2022. She is involved in a wide range of professional work, including rural property sales, valuations, property management, and tenancy matters. Suzanna also plays a key role in mentoring the firms apprentices and graduates through their APC process and has been actively involved in the implementation of new software across Bagshaws’ professional and property services.

Prior to joining Bagshaws, Suzanna graduated from Aberystwyth University in 2018 with a BSc (Hons) in Agriculture, before completing a Masters in Rural Estate and Land Management (MProf) at Harper Adams University in 2019.

Outside of work, Suzanna enjoys spending time with her family, socialising with friends, playing tennis, hiking, and lending a hand on her family’s farms when she can.

Malcolm Gale

Malcolm started his career at Bagshaws in 1982 as a clerk in the markets and after furthering his education, graduated from the Royal Agricultural College in 1988 qualifying as a Chartered Surveyor and Agricultural Valuer in 1991. Having practiced for a short time in Oxfordshire and after that at another company in Staffordshire, he has been involved since that day in all aspects of rural practice including valuations, sales, compensation claims, option/promotion agreements and auctioneering.

He is a Member of the Royal Institution of Chartered Surveyors (and a Registered Valuer), a Fellow of the Central Association of Agricultural Valuers, a Fellow of the Livestock Auctioneers Association, became a Partner of Bagshaws in 2005 and is based at the Uttoxeter office.

As well as having been a past President of the Staffordshire Agricultural Valuers Association he has now also served for a three year term on the Presidential team for the CAAV. Malcolm was very honoured to have been invited onto that role and was President of the CAAV from June 2023 through to the end of June 2024. The previous time that a Staffordshire Association valuer held the Presidency of the national association, was in 1936 when it was held by George Fletcher Bagshaw.

Malcolm has now taken the difficult decision to step out of the Partnership in order to become a Consultant but still carrying on with his previous work mix. He now works from Tuesday to Thursday and is ably supported by the growing number of younger colleagues forging their own careers in this interesting profession.

Mark Elliott

As well as being a Partner, Mark is a specialist Machinery, Pedigree Dairy, Store Cattle, Auctioneer and Chartered Surveyor.

Mark heads the Dispersal sales team and operates from Bakewell and Leek market on a weekly basis as well as selling Store Cattle in Leek at the Saturday auctions.

The dispersals team provide a full, onsite and professional service with detailed photographic catalogues provided.  Sales including collective sales are also undertaken over a very wide geographical area.

Mark also undertakes a wide range of professional valuation work including instructions from individuals, partnerships, professionals and solicitors (including matrimonial and court work) and valuations for other purposes.
