The dispersal sale on behalf of Mrs Karen Lockhart at Brook Farm, Drayton Bassett saw a massive number of lots and an extremely hot day during the July heatwave.

With close on 750 lots the team worked quickly to get out to the sale field from the yard and the wide array of kit and spares together with Kuhn equipment and tractor attracted spirited bidding.

The Wright Rain Mobile Pump Unit attracted wide interest including purchasers from Cornwall and this unit eventually achieved £5,650 but was in fact purchased by a local farmer.

The retirement dispersal on behalf of the Brunt family at Knenhall Farm, Moddershall Nr Stone saw a superb range of equipment catalogued and with national and Irish interest a large crowd gathered on sale day.

The equipment was an absolute credit to all those involved at the farm and had been carefully used and very well maintained with a full range of kit for sale from this mixed sheep and dairy unit.

Some of the stars of the show included a 14ft Houghton Parkhouse Tri-Axle Lift Deck Livestock Trailer together with the John Deere 30 Series tractors and JCB TM320S Telehandler. With up to four telephone bidders operating on several of the larger lots there was keen bidding throughout the day.

The pre-sale phone had been extremely busy with regard to enquiries for trailers and tractors etc and undoubtedly the Houghton Parkhouse Tri-Axle Lift Deck Livestock Trailer created a real stir across the north of England. This 2018 model having undertook little work and in superb order topped the trailers section at £20,100 and was purchased by a Yorkshire farmer.

The farms Telehandler was from the JCB stable being a TM320S Pivot Steer sold with just over 3,390 hours on the clock and a 2015 model it achieved £55,000 to a Derbyshire farmer.

A superb field of machinery in very good order with a large crowd and excellent results.

Machinery Dispersal Report-Little Broadgates Farm, Ashleyhay

“Immense Crowd at Derbyshire Dispersal-with wide array of non-vat items for every pocket” Mark Elliott

The genuine dispersal sale following the passing of the late Jim Wain at Ashleyhay saw the largest crowd all season and support from Wales, Lincolnshire, Yorkshire, the Midlands and the North of England.

With such a wide array of non-vat items which has been collected for perhaps four decades and no vat or buyer’s premium the crowds flocked to Little Broadgates Farm and every lot saw spirited bidding with various items unique which resulted in some exceptional prices throughout the day.

There were close on 700 lots for sale and even a small windmill or two included in the sale items.

The top price of the day was a Field Marshall Series II at £8,100.

A superbly attended sale which included everything from the kitchen sink to a Field Marshall even a few taxidermy birds and some world war I shell casing. Thanks to the vendor and the outside sales team as everyone was loaded and the job complete by 6.30pm on sale evening.
