SCORCHING TRADE AT FEBRUARY PEDIGREE SALE
15 OVER £2000 – TOP OF £2380
PEDIGREES AV £1873 * ALL MILKERS AVERAGE £1804
Another super trade at Leeks February Pedigree Sale saw 15 smash the £2000 barrier and every single milker including the commercials average £1803 which also included those with detriments.
A super second calver from the Meldamar Herd of Messrs Shepherd topped the day at £2380. Meldamar Caviar Triuna 49, by Gillette Caviar was sold giving 42kg and went to John Moss of Rushton Spencer.
The same family also saw their Westcoast Alcove heifer reach £2240 with their entry of 7 which include 3 cows average an excellent £2091.
Close behind the top spot at £2320 was a tremendous heifer by TW Goodwhone from the Alsopdale herd of Messrs Bunting. Giving 32kg she went to Messrs Neville of Rushley.
John Stone of Onecote presented a lovely run of 6 heifers which saw the best to £2240 and two others reach £2100 to average £2010.
Regular vendor David Brailsford of Alton Chesterfield saw his milky 31kg heifer reach £2100.
Within the commercials first time vendors Messrs Williams of Middlewich saw two of their Norwegian Red X heifers both reach £1900.
Calves were keenly sought after with a very pretty red and whites from the Timberlane Herd of Messrs Hayes reaching £500 with another from the same home at £485.
A lovely run of 6 Fleckvieh heifer calves from Messrs Bailey of Biddulph Park topped at £400 to average £370.

Machinery Dispersal Report-Gallards Farm
“Large Crowd and Spirited Bidding at Newport Pagnell Dispersal”

The first dispersal sale of the season for the Bagshaws team took place at Gallards Farm, Tyringham,
Newport Pagnell in Buckinghamshire when Bagshaws teamed up with Bletsoes of Thrapston to
undertake a large machinery dispersal on behalf of the Robeson family trading as Fences Farm LLP.
The jersey cattle had already been dispersed which left a range of John Deere tractors, Merlo
Telehandler and effects for unreserved sale and a large crowd gathered from as far as Essex, North
Wales and North Yorkshire.

Undoubtedly the stars of the show were the Merlo and Tractors with the Merlo TF 33-7 Telehandler
(18 Plate-3,600 Hours) at £32,000. After spirited bidding the first of the John Deeres being the 6125
M c/w Loader (15 Plate-3,160 Hours) making £44,200 and the John Deere 6130R c/w Front Weight
Block (14 Plate-6,180 Hours) at £35,800.
In the included items;
There was a New Holland T.6080 4WD (08 Plate) at £23,000 and a Kawasaki Mule (Diesel 56 Plate) at
£2,600.
In the Dairy and Associated Fixtures;
The Collinson 20 Ton Bulk Leg Bin (No Augers) achieved £3,700 with the Fabdec Dair- Kool 6000 Litre
Bulk Tank c/w Compressor at £2,000.

More Needed to Satisfy Demand!!
Another swift trade for the milkers on Tuesday saw all classes and breeds well sought after.
Topping the day was a 28kg heifer from regular vendor Andrew Mills of Ratcliffe on Wreake at £2120. He also saw his British Friesian heifer reach £1840.
Cows were equally in demand with a second calver from Brian Needham reaching £2080 and a third calver from the same home at £2040.
All milkers averaged a very healthy £1591.
A powerful Limousin stock bull from the Hardy family of Cauldon Lowe created great interest with the hammer eventually dropping at £2780.

A very bouncy trade for the dairies on Tuesday saw five pass the £2000 mark topping at £2210.
Top honours went to Messer’s Suttton of Astbury, Congleton who saw all four of their heifers pass £2000 to average £2140.
Richard Lomas of Calow, Derbyshire saw his heifer reach £2060.
Shorthorn heifer calves from the Broadlane Herd of Gary Norbury were keenly sought after reaching £445.
