A really bouncy trade on Tuesday saw a top of £2460 for a 28kg heifer from Andrew Mills of Ratcliffe on Wreake with others from the same home to £2420 and £2380.

Close behind at £2100 was a 30kg heifer from T Swinson of Caverswall.

Cows peaked at £1940 for a second calver giving 37kg from Messrs Darwin of Sheffield.

A lovely entry forward for the Christmas Show & Sale next week.

A lovely winters day for our annual Christmas Primestock Show & Sale day at Leek, which attracted a large attendance of local farmers, businesses and customers which was great to see. Thank you again
for your continued support at Leek.

A good early month entry with trade for the best strong and vendors from Northamptonshire as well as
Yorkshire and our own surrounding counties.

The Steeples family of Kettering exhibited 2 excellent strong heifers from their Cramar heifer to the days top price of £2240 with their second heifer achieving £2180.

The top 10 newly calved cattle were all £1840 and above to average a very creditable £1972.

Strong milky cows saw spirited bidding with a Shorthorn x 3rd calver from the Howes at Litton achieving £1780 and a strong Friesian cow giving 48kg from Richard
Thompson at £1850.

A big entry already entered for the 20th December with Christmas Show & Sale where mince pies and coffees will be served.

A really bouncy trade on Tuesday saw a 28kg heifer from Andrew Mills of Ratcliffe on Wreake top the day at £2160 to Mr Robinson of Rudyard. He has a second at £2140 to Messrs Parkes of Melton Mowbray.

Cows topped at £2000 for a second calver from Bradbury & Brookes of Field.

A sweet Shorthorn second calver from the Howes of Litton reached £1900.

17 in the dairy shed and everyone waiting for next weeks exceptional entry of over 130 for the Monthly Pedigree sale.

Trade today strong with the better goods well over £2000. The day started with a smart run of Friesian heifers calves from Sproston vendors the Gleave family who topped at £220 with other at £180 and £160 at 25-35 days old.

The Rileys at Noon Sun topped todays fresh heifer trade at £2250 with a Havendale heifer fresh and giving 29kg. Mark Shepherd was forward with two strong Pedigree cows to a top of £1980 with his 3rd calver not far behind at £1820. The neater but smaller framed heifer regularly £1400 – £1840 for several local vendors.
