Machinery Dispersal Report-Brookley Meadows Farm
“Very wide support for Derbyshire Dispersal”

The retirement dispersal machinery sale on behalf of Mr Roy and Mr Andrew Dutton of Thurvaston near Derby saw an excellent range of machinery for genuine retirement dispersal with virtually all the kit owned from new and purchased from local dealerships.
There was interest from Scotland, Devon, Somerset, Wales and Shropshire together with all surrounding counties and a very large crowd attended the event.
The stars of the show were undoubtedly the three New Holland tractors which were all 2017 registered or newer together with the JCB 526-56 Telehandler (2019 model).

One of the highlights of the sale saw a Reco Mengele SH40N Trailed Flywheel Forage Harvester attract the interest of purchasers from both Wales and Shropshire and finally achieving a massive £10,500.
A very smart NC 3000 Gallon Vacuum Tanker was sold locally at £13,500.

Yet again there was massive interest in the Telehandler with the 2019 JCB 526-56 Agri Plus Telehandler c/w Pallet Forks achieving £41,000 and a range of attachments including an X-Form 9 Tine Twin Ram Grab at £1,040.

Leek Market Report
A superb day in the Dairy Ring yesterday saw a 100% clearance and 222 milkers sold in just under 4 hours!
Commercials topped at £1820 for a fresh heifer giving 30kg from Messrs Easom.
A tremendous crowd gathered for the dispersal on behalf of the Carter family of Rugby no doubt drawn by the obvious quality on offer. With an annual average of 10,000kg+ and superb herd health, they really were the complete package.
The standard was set with the first cow through the ring reaching £2460. An August calved second calver by Cogent Supershot, she was sold giving 44.4kg and went to John Bayley of Bilstone, Nuneaton.
Another Supershot daughter also reached £2460. Calve with her third also in August she was giving just over 58kg and went to Messrs Swindells of Chelmorton.
Topping the day however was a fresh Redrock-View Klutch heifer at £2520. These were some of the first heifers to calve in the UK by this bull and attracted great interest. She caught the eye of Vic Truman of Melton Mowbray who also took other heifers by Mardi Gras and the same bull at £2300 and £2280.
A buoyant trade right to the end, the herd averaged a superb £1467.

Leek Market Report
A terrific entry on Tuesday of 120 Dairies saw a 100% clearance with a top price of £2300.
Broomhouse Achiever Quest 6797 from Messrs Easom was an ABS Achiever daughter out of an 86 point dam. Sold for £2300 giving 32.5kg she went to Messrs Bradbury of Earl Sterndale.
Top cow was also from the Broomhouse Herd selling for £1850. A second calver giving 42kg she went to the same home.
A lovely entry of 38 Shorthorns attracted much interest with a second calver Amber Princess Anne 129 GP81 taking first in the cow class and overall champion from J Hole & Sons, Ashover. She went on to sell for £1700.
However it was a heifer from the same home Amber Lady Annetta 93 that topped at £1900. By Amber Lightening she went to Messrs Howard of Guide, Blackburn.
A very pretty 1 month old calf from Rob Kite reached £580. By Blackwood Park Butternut, she boasted 4 gens VG/EX.

Excellent weekend weather for the 16th October saw a large crowd at the retirement sale on behalf of Eddie and Lesley Biddle.
There was a large range of collectables together with small field of machinery with everyone well represented across Staffordshire and Derbyshire.

The Ifor Williams LM105 Twin Axle Transport Trailer c/w Mesh Sides, Ramps and Subposts sold for £2,280. The Nissan Navara 4 Door Pickup off the farm (2009-170,000 Miles) at £2,700.
A Massey Ferguson 550 2WD (S Plate) sold at £4,600 in the included section together with a Marshall 60 Barrel Spreader at £880 and a large Steel Bodied Feed Trailer at £700.

The Mid October Sale on behalf of Mr & Mrs Ian Hulme of Middle Farm at Cowlow near Buxton attracted a large crowd and with the family emigrating to New Zealand there was extremely spirited bidding in all sections.

Ian Hulme had been well regarded as a fencing contractor with many sundry items for his business sold at the genuine dispersal. The principal item a Brice Suma Agri Stockman Plus Fully Mounted Post Knocker made an excellent £5,800 with a Home Fabricated Bobcat Mounted Knocker Unit achieving £800.

In the tractors a New Holland 8260 4WD with just short of 10,500 hours on the clock achieved £13,100 with the Fendt 716 Vario with just short of 11,700 hours on the clock at £19,400.
The Clarke S130 Bobcat Skidsteer Loader attracted telephone bidders and others assisted to an excellent £9,600. With the 8 Tine Power Grab achieving £480.
