A full shed of milkers at Leek on Tuesday met a really solid trade with prices topping at £2580 twice over, both for heifers, the first from W J Nadin & Co and the second from Michael Wainwright both of Buxton.
A lovely run of cows from the Broomhouse Herd of Messrs Easom saw second and third calvers reach £2220, £2220 and £2100 respectively.
The herd sale for the Hollingshead family of Melton Mowbray despite containing a large number of older cows sold well.

A very mixed quality forward on Tuesday however the best continue to sell exceptionally well. Andrew Weston of Litton topped the day at £2620 for a 30kg heifer with another heifer from Derek Davenport of Sandbach close behind at £2580. Cows peaked at £2500 for a second calver from Phillip Brocklehurst of Mobberley. Next week we have the herd dispersal on behalf of the Hollinshead family. Robot cows, they are strong and milky. The excellent retirement dispersal on behalf of Mr David Waring and his wife Pat saw a large crowd and very active bidding from start to finish.

The machinery sale at Weaver Farm on behalf of Warren Harvey and family attracted very wide interest from as far afield as north of Scotland, Northern Ireland and Devon and with the principal machines having undertaken very little work there was spirited bidding in the field and also online bidding available and used by a number of purchasers in Wales, Cumbria and Northern England.

The Hi-Spec 4000 Gallon Twin Axle Vacuum Tanker c/w Galvanised Dribble Bar Unit topped the Slurry Equipment at £39, 800 and was bought online to go to Wales.
