Another bouncy trade for milkers saw Brian Needham top the day for a second week in a row at £2440 for a 30kg heifer with a second from the same home at £2340.
Cross bred dairy youngstock from Rowe Farms peaked at £495 with bulling heifers from other homes up to £740.

Large April Crowd for Rugeley Dispersal

The sale at Lower Lea Farm, Admaston on behalf of the Mellor family attracted a very large crowd and set off with a real bang when the scrap as lot 1 achieved an excellent £1,000.
There were bidders for all sectors;
- with tractor seats to £70
- Lincoln Mini Welder £210
- Andrew Space Heater £80
- Steel Bench £65
Within the Non-Vat Sector;
- 3ft Stone Troughs Up to £310
- Stone Bird Baths Up to £110 each
- Staddle Stone Bases Up to £35 each
The Kubota GR1600 Diesel Fired Ride on Lawn Mower attracted wide interest and achieved £3,000.
Within the Livestock Sundries;
- Galvanised Bulk Pen Sections £360
- Crash Barrier (In Ewe Section Format) £210 per lot
- Concrete Sleepers Up to £10 each
- Galvanised Gates Up to £80 per pair
- IAE Painted Calf Crush £460
Within the Larger Machinery;

The star of the show in the trailers was the Richard Western 14 Ton Silage Trailer on Wide Wheel Set at £11,000 with the NC Twin Axle Agri Low Loader at £5,200 and Tri-Axle Flat Bale Trailers Up to £4,800 each.
In the Tractors Section;
- Ex-Services MF 20B (In Green Livery) achieved £6,150
- Case MX 150 4WD (02’-Black Livery) at £25,000
- Massey Ferguson 5455 4WD (08’ c/w Loader) at £28,500
The JCB 526S Telehandler (02’ Plate) achieved £15,100 with the JCB 3CX Sitemaster (non-turbo) £13,800.

COMMERCIAL HEIFERS REACH £2940
PEDIGREES TOP AT £2740

A superb trade for the best on Tuesday saw an outstanding commercial heifer from Brian Needham of Rushton Spencer top the day at £2940. Heading to local purchaser Andrew Hulme of Basford, he also went on to take a second from the same home at £2460. The six forward from the Needhams averaged a superb £2238.
Within the pedigree section regular vendors Messrs Sutton of Gawsworth took top honours with a 38kg heifer by Denovo 8068 Tenor at £2740.
The Mellor family of Earl Sterndale saw both their heifers sought after reaching £2300 and £2280 respectively.
Next week sees a Special Entry of 130 New Zealand X Youngstock from Rowe Farms Ltd of Newcastle under Lyme, with Herd Dispersals also booked throughout May (Further Details in Due Course)

A more buoyant trade on Tuesday saw a top price in the commercials of £2130 for a 26kg heifer from Andrew Mills of Ratcliffe on Wreake with others from Messrs Peach of Warslow at £2020.
The herd sale on behalf of the Baskerville family of Lichfield topped at £2050 for a January calved third calver giving 43kg. Next in-line was a fresh fourth calver at £1980.
Next week is the April Pedigree sale with a good entry forward to date including another big group of well bred youngstock from Hankin Heys Farm Ltd.
