There were three McCormick and Massey Ferguson Tractors with the Massey Ferguson 6480 4WD (56 plate 4,300 hours) topping the day at £22,000.

A funny trade for milkers at the May pedigree sale, no doubt not helped by the good silaging weather.

Top call for black & white’s was £2320 for a Batman daughter from the Shepherd family of Bakewell, giving 32kg she went to Andrew Neville of Matlock. Another Batman daughter from the same home reached £2280 to Messrs Howell of Yarlet.

Andrew Stone, Onecote saw his Bidlea Isaac daughter reach £2240 to Messrs Sellors of Grangemill.

Cows peaked at £2180 for a second calver from the Needham family of Rushton.

In-calf heifer from Richard Lomas of Calow reached £1620 with calves topping at £290.

The special entry of Shorthorns were very well received with a heifer from Messrs Hole of Ashover topping at £2300 to Messrs Malkin of Stone. Cows topped at £1820 for a third calver from Richard Harper. Several commercial shorthorn heifers from the Hollinworth family of Ashover topped at £1110.

Youngstock from the Bailey family of Oswestry sold particularly well with a September born heifer by Tanat Valleyrun making £640 with others to £620 and £600.

A stylish heifer from John Stone of Onecote topped the day on Tuesday at £2080 with another heifer from the Darwin family of Oxspring, Sheffield close behind at £2020.

A great group of In-calf heifers also from the Darwins topped at £1700 with bulling heifers from the Shirts reaching £1180. Strong entries already forward for next weeks pedigree sale which also includes a special entry of Shorthorns comprising Milkers, In-calf Heifers and Youngstock.

The genuine retirement dispersal on behalf of Mr Alan Kay at Trowell near Nottingham saw an excellent range of principally arable machinery for sale and the Massey Ferguson Tractors an JCB Telehandler attracted particular interest.

There was spirited bidding in all sections including:

 Undoubtedly the stars of the show were the Massey Ferguson Tractors and JCB Telehander with a massive amount of interest from all over England for the 526 S Telehandler on 4,800 hours on a W plate.

The Telehandler attracted very spirited bidding and was eventually bought by a Staffordshire farmer at £30,200.
