“Large Crowd and Large Number of Lots at Derby Dispersal”

The dispersal sale on behalf of the Mr Paul and Mr Richard Bosworth t/a Bosworth Brothers of Home Farm, Stanley attracted wide national interest including potential customers from four counties particularly with regard to the MB Trac 1000 which had been on the same farm since 1999.
There were in excess of 530 Lots with included items from family members and other local vendors.

Pedigree week and a smaller entry but the trade good with a top of £2740 and 11 cattle £2000 and above.
Some smart runs of cattle from regular vendors and probably more cattle could have been well sold to vendors advantage.
Brian Needham topped the catalogued sale at £2740 with a very robust strong heifer giving 39kg to Andrew Hulme at Basford with Briggs entry of 4 heifers averaging on an excellent £2510.
Strong milky cows giving 40kg and above good to sell between £1800 and £2000 for both the Needham’s and the Bradburn family from Wigan.
Several local and regional purchases out for top end cattle but left with entry trailers as the best were just beyond their reach.
The commercial entry topped at £2360 for Andrew Mills for a newly calved heifer giving 28kg with cows from the Richardson family at Plumley, Cheshire topping the fresh commercial cows at £1630.

A reduced entry saw a top price of £2020 for a pretty heifer from Andrew Armett of West Leake to Messrs Robinson of Rudyard.
A second calver giving 31.5kg from Bradbury & Brookes of Field reached £1940 and went for Ed Clowes of Kingsley.
Some nice entries already in for the Pedigree sale next week with the herd sale of Procross on the 25th April.
“Great Support at Mobberley Dispersal”

The dispersal sale on behalf of Mr Philip Brocklehurst at Oak Farm, Mobberley saw a wide range of tractors, sundries and effects and the Bagshaws team out with over 400 lots.
In the Smaller Lots:

There was a small range of well kept machinery with a Browns Single Leg Subsoiler £380; Twose Heavy Flat Roll £560 and Galvanised Pasture Slitter £1,040.
There had been a lot of pre-sale interest in the 13 cubic metre King Feeder which eventually made £5,200 to a Staffordshire purchaser.
The Yamaha Big Bear 400 Quad Bike was unregistered for the road and achieved £1,600 with the farms’ Ford 4000 c/w with Detached Loader at £3,530.
In the larger machinery and tractors, the Valtra A82 2WD (09 Plate – 4,200 hours) achieved £16,200 with the McCormick X4-60 4WD c/w with Trima Loader (65 Plate – 4900 hours) at £20,100.
The included items on behalf of the Fitton Estate saw good local interest with the McCormick CX105 Extra Shift c/w with Loader (53 Plate – 3,500 hours) at £14,800.
There had been wide pre-sale interest in the Sleepers off the farm with the early lots of Sleepers sold in lots of 450 per Lot up to £3,200 and small Lots up to £2,700 per Lot.
A surprise of the day was the Single Phase Froment PTO Generator which achieved an excellent £2,020 after spirited bidding from both Cheshire and Staffordshire.

With instructions from the Hollinshead Family at Curborough, the Bagshaws onsite team had an Easter weekend visit to Lichfield and the bright Spring weather drew a massive crowd for the Vintage and Classic Tractors, Landrover 110 and full range of equipment. Various local vendors had included major items including trailers, tankers and arable equipment and there was support from a very wide area.

The star of the show was undoubtedly the Landrover 110 High Capacity (2010 Model – Bought new onto the holding – 51,000 miles) at a massive £22,900.

44 DAIRIES TOP AT £2000
A mixed quality and a mixed trade leaves you wondering whether the 5 pence plus milk price drops are starting to impact.
Topping the day at £2000 was second calver from Bradbury & Brookes of Field with heifers peaking at £1900 from Andrew Mills.
Look out for the sale of the Procross Milking Herd from David Dashwood of Brackley, Northants at the end of the month. These are a really good herd of cows that are well worthy of inspection.
