Machinery Dispersal Report-Burns Farm, Church Warsop, Mansfield
“Outstanding prices at Nottinghamshire Retirement Sale”
The retirement sale on behalf of Mr Richard Green at Burns Farm, Church Warsop near Mansfield attracted a large crowd from as far a field as Forfar in Scotland and North Norfolk as well as Yorkshire and all surrounding Counties with a wide range of effects for genuine dispersal there was excellent bidding for all categories.
Undoubtedly the stars of the show were the New Holland tractors and JCB telehandler and with the majority of the items owned from new prices were as follows;

Irrigation equipment attracted wide interest from local purchasers together with traders as far afield as Pembrokeshire.

The JCB 536-70 Agri Super had been owned from new and showed 2,657 hours on sale day and achieved an eye watering £58,300 to a local farmer.

Both New Holland T Series Tractors were in excellent order with the T 6.175 (17’ Plate-1,268 hours) at £47,400 and the T 7.230 (18’ Plate-2,067 hours) at £59,600.

Top of £2580 ** 100% Clearance
In total 27 milkers passed the £2000 mark with the Pedigree entry averaging an outstanding £2032 and all milkers including commercials averaging out at £1824.
Just when you think you’ve reached the peak of the dairy trade, you get a trade like todays that surpassed all expectations. Admittedly our vendors did not disappoint providing an excellent selection of both milkers and youngstock for purchasers to choose from.
Cows topped at £2260 for a fantastic second calver from the Barmick herd of Mick & Barbara Hollins. By Scientific B Defiant, she was classified VG85 and was sold giving 48kg. she was clinched by Messrs Swindells of Chelmorton.
However it was a superb run of 10 fresh heifers from the Rowarton herd of Andrew & Carrie Sutton of Astbury, Congleton that stole the show. 9 out of the 10 passes the £2000 mark with a ‘Our-Favourite Ve Matia daughter leading at £2580 to Andrew Hulme of Basford. Hot in pursuit at £2400 was Rowarton Silvio Anita also heading to the same home. All 10 averaged a superb £2169.
Well bred bulling heifers also from the Barmick herd peaked at £1000 with a smashing run of weaned calves from Hankins Heys Farm of Crewe topping at £600 to average £523.
There was lots of interest for the commercial Guernsey herd sold on behalf of the Webster family. Trade topped at £1780 for a fresh Jersey x Guernsey heifer with a 5th calver close behind at £1720.
Next week we have an entry of 12 genuine herd sale cows from one home. We will also be selling a heifer kindly donated by Hayden Whitfield for the Ukraine Crissi. Leek Auctions will be matching the sale price. Many people have already kindly donated including Andrew Mills who gave £500 from the sale of his heifers yesterday and the Moore family who donated money from the sale of fodder.

“Wide Support for the Barber Family”

The excellent machinery and wide range of dairy and cattle sundries attracted a large crowd to Plardiwick Farm at Gnosall for the dispersal on behalf of Adrian and Sarah Barber who had farmed on the holding for over a decade.
Trade was fast from start to finish with items from other local vendors a strong trade at the end of the field.

“Outstanding prices achieved at Early Season Derbyshire Dispersal”

The dispersal sale on behalf of Mr Gordon and Mrs Barbara Cresswell of Brook Farm, Atlow near Ashbourne attracted a very large crowd and the quality items for genuine dispersal saw an excellent trade from start to finish.
The family had been on the tenanted unit since 1970 and had always run Massey Ferguson tractors and sourced their machinery and effects from all the local dealerships.

The sale also included a Deceased Estate dispersal on behalf of the Late Mr Alsop with the 3 Cylinder Massey Ferguson Loader tractor (M Reg c/w Cab) at £4,300. A 3 Cylinder Massey Ferguson (parts only) £2,500 and a Pettit Single Axle Tipping Trailer at £430.
A well-kept West 6 Ton Single Axle Grain Trailer achieved £2,980 with a virtually unused Albutt Twin Ram Sheargrab on Euro 8 Brackets at £970.

A very busy day in the dairy section saw 107 milkers sold which included the herd dispersal on behalf of the Brunt family, Moddershall.
Commercial trade was again very buoyant with 6 passing the £2000 mark topping at £2220 for a heifer from Andrew Mills of Ratcliffe on Wreake. He also had a second to £2140.
The Williams family of Middlewich showed a fantastic run of 6 Norwegian Red and Fleckvieh X heifers with the best to £2200 and others to £2100 and £2030. The bunch of 6 averaged a superb £1981.
The herd dispersal on behalf of the Brunt family saw trade top at £2020 with many others in that £1700-£2000 mark.
Next week we have a big Pedigree Sale which includes a large number of youngstock from the Hankins, Barmick and Snowfern Herd.
