A buoyant trade throughout on Tuesday saw a very smart heifer from David Brailsford to £2000 with numerous more in the £1800 – £2000 bracket. The stock of crossbred cows from Messrs Kennerley sold exceptionally well, topping at £1700 to average a superb £1378.
Numerous buyers were in attendance for the in-calf heifers from Ivydene herd of Messrs Cresswell. They topped at £1630 to average £1514.
The dispersal sale on behalf of Porter Brothers held by Bagshaws on the 7th May attracted wide interest. The socially distanced gathering for this outside event saw everything sold from the elevated mobile rostrum and purchasers from as far afield as North Wales, Anglesey and Scotland and the South of England.

Within the Trailer Selection the best Ken Wootton Grain and Silage Trailers being 11- and 10-ton models respectively achieved £4,100 and £4,900 but the stars of the trailers were undoubtablythe very well kept Portequip Twin Axle Bale Trailers which achieved £9,100 and £9,250 respectively.
The Teagle 8500 Trailed Straw Blower was in excellent order and was sold locally for £6,400.

The Bagshaws on site team travelled to Clifton Campville near Tamworth for the end of April sale on behalf of Joe Bennett and Amy trading as Highfields Farm Dairy Ltd.
There was an extensive range of sheep and goat equipment, hurdles etc together with grassland equipment, a John Deere tractor and a superbly maintained low hour Merlo TF 35.7 CS 120 Telehandler.

The IAE Mini Covered Lamb Creep achieved £210, with the Bateman Heavy Duty Sheep Rollover Crate at £410.

Within the machinery items there was a small range of grassland kit with a Twose flat roller at £280, Sitrex DM5 Mounted Disc Mower £1960, Sitrex 4 Rotor Trailed Tedder £1700 and trailers to £590 each.
The classic John Deere 3040 2WD on a D reg sold extremely well to a Cumbrian bidder at £8,750 and the star of the show being the Merlo TF 35.7 120 Telehander on a 16 plate with under 1860 hours achieved a massive £41,800 to a Nottinghamshire purchaser.
Local vendors also included several items including a John Deere 3200 Telehander (02) at £13,500, a KWB Root Feeder Bucket (cone and pin fittings) £920, Ifor Williams 10 ft Twin Axle Livestock Trailer £3,400 and Lister Sheep Shearing Units up to £155 per set.
In the yard there was a range of in situ items with a small EB Fibre Sided Bulk Leg Bin at £1200, and a 20t Simms enclosed Steel Straights Bin at £3,200. In the non-VAT items the Snapper RPX 200 Ride On Mower achieved £740 with Vintage Fuel Cans to £90.

Another bouncy trade for milkers saw the best to £1970 and 10 pass the £1800
A mixed quality forward in the dairy shed on Tuesday saw the best to £1850 for a heifer from John Hill of Ashover. In-calf heifers peaked at £1600. Next week we have a herd reduction of 30 fresh Friesian cows and heifers from Messrs Kennerley together with a group of 12 Pedigree British Friesian in-calf heifers due end of June onwards to the Limousin from Messrs Cresswell
There was an excellent entry of 531 store and breeding cattle on offer with trade very similar to last week and a good company of buyers in attendance.
The dispersal sale on behalf of the Green family at Burns Farm saw a superb range of New Holland combine and tractors on offer, with a wide range of potato equipment and trailers for sale.
There was excellent support from a wide area of the UK and a well behaved socially distanced crowd saw principal prices as follows.
In the smaller lots the calving aid £104, heavy duty galvanised ring feeders to £300, IAE mounted calf creeps to £495 and a Ritchie Galvanised Calf Dehorning Crate at £230.
The 6-cylinder Ford powered irrigation pump achieved £4,500 with a set of 12ft chain harrows at £230 and a Danuser PTO Post Hole Borer at £450.
All the major items were extremely well maintained with a virtually unused snow plough at £650 and a superb New Holland 945 Conventional Baler at £6,420.
The mounted Simba Express achieved £4,600 with the trailed Väderstad 420 carrier at £10,600 and a Kverneland 5 furrow LD85 series plough at £6,020.
Within the potato equipment the Scanstone 4 Webber Destoner at £23,400 and the trailed Hardy 3200 sprayer at £12,000.
Undoubtedly, the stars of the show were the New Holland Tractors & Combine, with the New Holland 7-200 4WD 40KPH with just over 3,000 hours on the clock on a 16 plate at £50,000 and the New Holland 6-180 19 plate with just over 900 hours on the clock again at £50,000.
The sale culminated with the sale of the New Holland CX7080 Combine, being owned from new and with under 650 work hours on the clock and a vari feed header this achieved a superb £111,000.
