Leek Market Report
DAIRIES (37) ;
Selling time – 11:30am
Auctioneers – Meg Elliott (07967 007049) & Mark Elliott (07973 673092)
Pedigree week and a smaller entry but the trade good with a top of £2740 and 11 cattle £2000 and above.
Some smart runs of cattle from regular vendors and probably more cattle could have been well sold to vendors advantage.
Brian Needham topped the catalogued sale at £2740 with a very robust strong heifer giving 39kg to Andrew Hulme at Basford with Briggs entry of 4 heifers averaging on an excellent £2510.
Strong milky cows giving 40kg and above good to sell between £1800 and £2000 for both the Needham’s and the Bradburn family from Wigan.
Several local and regional purchases out for top end cattle but left with entry trailers as the best were just beyond their reach.
The commercial entry topped at £2360 for Andrew Mills for a newly calved heifer giving 28kg with cows from the Richardson family at Plumley, Cheshire topping the fresh commercial cows at £1630.
Next week sees the Procross entry from the Dashwood Family from Brackley. Catalogues available on our website.
