A very mixed quality brought a mixed trade with third quality sorts very hard to find homes for. Heifers topped at £2160 for a 36kg heifer from Michael Wainwright of Buxton with another to £1900 from Messrs Easom.

Cows topped at £1880 for a powerful second calver also from Messrs Easom.

More sales currently in the process of being booked so keep an eye out for further details in due course.

Leek Market Report

An unpredictable trade on Tuesday saw the best sell very well and the third quality more difficult to move.

Topping the day at £2300 was a very sweet Yoda daughter from Messrs Easom, Broomhouse Yoda Retro 6753. She boasted an EX90 50 ton dam and was sold giving 29kg. She was eventually clinched by Messrs Sellors of Grangemill.

The Easoms also saw a second heifer of theirs reach £2100. A Welcome-Ted Bromley daughter, she was giving 28kg and went to Messrs Jolliffe of Yarlet.

Cows topped at £2080 for a third calver from the Braemarhouse Herd of Messrs Mellor. She had given 7027kg last time and went to Messrs Gilman.

Next week we have a Special Entry of 23 spring calving cross bred cows from one home.

Machinery Dispersal Report-Grouse Cottage Farm

“Major crowd at Matlock Dispersal with 655 lots sold”

A bright, breezy and sunny day with an excellent venue saw a fast trade when the late John Spencer’s items together with other vendors kit was sold at Grouse Cottage Farm between Ashover and Matlock.

Included from a local vendor was a Case 4230 4WD on an M Plate c/w Loader which achieved a massive £10,000 and from the same vendor a Tuff Mac 8 Ton Twin Axle Drop Side Tipping Trailer at £5,000.

Machinery Dispersal Report-Hardenclough Farm, Hope Valley

“Exceptional Machinery at Edale Dispersal with strong prices and a large crowd”

The dispersal on behalf of Mr & Mrs Robin Metcalfe at Hardenclough Farm, Hope Valley saw a superb range of equipment for genuine dispersal and a large crowd including customers from as far afield as Tow Law in County Durham and North Wales and Cumbria together with all surrounding counties.

The family have farmed the unit since 1971 and their attention to detail and pride in keeping their equipment in good order was definitely shown in the prices achieved for their sale items.

There was wide interest in the livestock trailers, Honda Quad and Equipment with the Nugent 14ft Tri-axle Livestock Trailer achieving an excellent £5,020 and travelling North into Lancashire. The Ifor Williams 10ft Twin Axle Low Level Sheep Trailer achieving £3,560 and the superb Honda TRX520 Automatic 4WD Quad Bike having only 480 hours worked and being 2020 registered at a fantastic price of £5,850.

The excellent Case Farmall 105 4WD tractor achieved a superb £37,400 with the equally well kept Manitou 625-75 H Telehandler being four years old and achieving an excellent £37,000 to a South Staffordshire farmer.
