The Dairy Shed saw a tremendous trade for the Monthly Pedigree Sale with 8 over £2000 to top at £2240 for a second calver and heifers to £2200.

The retirement sale on behalf of Mr Graham Bull at Mile End Farm, Hilton saw the family finish on the holding after four generations. Many of the items have been owned from new including the superb small 4WD Massey Ferguson tractor and other main machines.

The farms Marshalls BC18 Single Axle Bale Trailer achieved £3,400 to a Derbyshire Farmer and the Massey Ferguson 3630 Extra 4WD tractor (63 Plate-3,204 Hours) achieved an excellent £18,400.

There were several included items from local farmers including, an old Albion Baler at £920, Major Topper at £600 and a Massey Ferguson 35 tractor at £2,500.

Already four sales booked for the Autumn Seasons which commences on Saturday 4th September with the Grindley Collective Sale at Grindley which is close to the A518 between Uttoxeter and Stafford.

Leek Market Report

The best continue to be a good trade with a 29kg heifer from Edward & Diane Bennett topping the days trade at £2130 to Ed Clowes of Kingsley.
Close behind at £2100 was a 30kg heifer from the Johnsons of Longnor which was clinched by Andrew Hulme of Basford.
Two smart heifers from the Philips’ of Winkhill both reached £2000 with others from Stuart Greenall at £1980 and another from the Johnsons at £1960.
Calves topped at £300 for a beautiful Shorthorn heifer from Bill Waters with other 8 month old heifers from Tom & Louise Allen to £640. Their Simmental bull also sold well with the hammer eventually falling at £1940.

There was interest from a wide area within the Trailer Section with;

There had been a lot of pre-sale interest in the various Massey Ferguson Tractors at the sale with the 698T 4WD (A Plate) at £7,600 to a local farmer; the 399 – 4WD (K Plate) at £17,140 to a Buxton farmer and the Massey Ferguson 390T 4WD c/w 915 Loader (L Plate) at £17,550 to a Chesterfield farmer.

Within the Included Section the locally sourced Kubota M125 X 4WD (58 Plate) made a resounding £25,500 with a run of local machines from near Belper seeing a McCormick MTX 185 4WD (54 Plate) at £17,300, a Ford 7840 4WD Dual Power (L Plate) at £8,000 and a JCB 3CX 4WD (G Plate) at £6,850.

There were towards 80 Lots of NON VAT Items from the Farm to include  Collectables etc with Poultry Crates up to £20 each, an Ornate Metal Window at £210, Alloy Churns c/w Lids up to £90 each and Wide Pine Cabinet Tops up to £260 each.
