With all the flooding and associated troubles, a smaller market was in prospect, but this was not the case with 805 Cattle and 1,935 Sheep on offer at Bakewell.

Despite dismal weather things were much brighter as far as trade was concerned with Finished Lambs and Finished Cattle recording very respectable prices and plenty of confidence in the Store and Breeding Cattle department.

The adverse weather conditions resulted in a reduced entry but given the wet weather trade improved and up some 7p/kg on last week’s average.

All weights and types in strong demand from a strong contingent of buyers to a top of £99 per head and 220p/kg.
